Daily Climbing Haiku

Belaying provides a lot of time to daydream, plan blog posts and compose poetry.  We plan to fill this page with lots of haiku penned during our 2018 autumn trip to Yosemite.  Feel free to add your own poetry in the comments box below!

Crying Time Again
Cold, cold, cold on Lambert Dome
Climb towards the sun
- Marian

Mighty Cathedral
Peak Climb. How windy were you?!
Proud tick for Team Jones
- Simon

John Muir sent the peak
Of Tuolumne’s high Temple
In his walking boots
- Marian

Dear Bear Box
We like you well stocked
Beer, beer, beans.
- Alice (couldn't remember Haiku rules!)

Climbing on El Cap
Always smells of wee because
There’s lots of smash back
- Marian

Stuck in a chimney
Grunt, squirm, wriggle, swear, whimper
Five eight on Free Blast
- Marian

Freeblast’ was not quite
Some aid climbing required
But awesome day had
- Simon

Some twat stole our stuff
Took our gear and our mojo
Climbing days are gone
- Marian
